    • Richard Bold, Knt. (d. November 16, 1528), married Margaret Boteler of Bewsey Hall (in Warrington).

      Some notes on this Richard:

      In 1497 he and others were enfeoffed with manor of Torbock by William Torbock, Esq. to take rents for life [Lancashire Record Office - DDM 48/30].

      In 1507 he and his father-in-law Sir Thomas Boteler were witnesses to a grant of lands in Ditton [Lancashire Record Office - DDBL 42/172.

      In 1512 Oliver Legh of Apulton surrendered a 3 1/2-acre close called Noppyfilde and two parcels [one in the Mylne filde and the other called the Nabber], all in the lordship of Widnes Manor, to Richard Bold, knight[Lancashire Record Office - DDX 480/26/22-24].

      Also in 1512 Isabell, late wife of John Legh of Apulton in Widnes, surrendered her dower and lands in Widnes to Sir Richard Bold, knight [Lancashire Record Office -DDX/480/26/26].

      In 1513 Geoffrey ap Edward ap Morgan surrendered a cottage with garden in Farnworth and a garden in Appulton to John Eltonhede the younger and Sir Richard Bold [Lancashire Record Office -DDX/480/26/36-37].

      Later in 1513 Geoffrey ap Edward ap Morgan surrendered a messuage in Upton, another in Farnworth, a close of land in Wydnes called the Old Feld, a close of land in Appulton called Appulton Hey, a close called the Lont, and a close in Farnworth called Brownes Hey to John Bold and his wife Grace and Richard Bold, knight. Also at that time Geoffrey surrendered to John Eltonhede jun. and Richard Bold, knight, a messuage and other tenements [Lancashire Record Office - DDX 480/26/38].

      In 1524 John Savage, knight, of Nottingham and others sold to Richard Bold, knight, lands, tenements, and hereditaments of John Savage in the lordship of Ditton and Widnes [Lancashire Record Office DDX/480/26/39-43].

      Sir Richard Bold's Inquisition Post Mortem was recorded at Widnes Manor on December 15, 1528 [Lancashire Record Office DDX 480/26/15].
