On Tuesday last at the residence of Dr J. C. Johnson, of Rutland District, Captain George F. Cherry, the efficient sherriff of our county, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Susie V. Paul, of Rutland District.

The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. Cosby W. Smith, D.D., of the WEsleyan Female College, in the presence of some of the realatives of the couple and a few friends.

Several attended the wedding from the city.

Capatain Cherry was a gallant soldier during the war, and is now sheriff of our county.

His bride was regarded the belle of the district, and is not only very pretty, but accomplished.

We wish for them all the joys of happy wedded life.
